The fans booed Atlanta Braves’s designated hitter, Marcell Ozuna, on his return to the starting line-up following his DUI Arrest on Friday. He was striked out in his first AB in this comeback match. Ozuna’s inclusion in the team was announced hours before the Braves were slated to play against the Houston Astros in the series finale on Sunday.

Ozuna is batting eighth for Atlanta and playing left field. Ozuna hasn’t played for the Braves since August 14 against Miami Marlins. During games, he has been part of the team and was also been present in the dugout.

Earlier this week, Ozuna was arrested for driving under the influence and failing to maintain a lane in Norcross early Friday morning. He was arrested in the Gwinnett County Jail and was released on bond the following morning.

This is, however, not the first time that the designated hitter, Ozuna has been part of a controversy.  Ozuna was hit with battery charges in 2021 for an incident involving his wife.

Initially, he was charged with felony aggravated assault by strangulation. The charges were later reduced to simple assault and battery.

Marcell Ozuna has been part of the Atlanta Braves since 2020 when he signed a 4-year, $65 million contract with the team. Previously, The player has also played for the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals in his brief MLB career.

Ozuna is a two-time MLB All-Star, for 2016 and 2017, when he was part of the Marlins. He was also named to the All-MLB First Team in 2020. The outfielder won the Golden Glove Award in 2017 and is also a two-time winner of the Silver Slugger Award.

Atlanta Braves Are currently in the second spot in the National League East division trailing only the New York Mets. Braves possess a 75-47 record and have the third-best record overall in the conference. The Los Angeles Dodgers have the best record in NL with 83-36.
