The Vikings are currently the division leaders of the NFC North with two wins and a loss. The team won against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1 before suffering a heavy loss against the Philadelphia Eagles the next week. They bounced back from their defeat to win a thriller against the Detroit Lions 28-24.

On their opposite side are the New Orleans Saints who fell to the third spot in the NFC South following a defeat to the Carolina Panthers. They defeated their arch rivals Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2 which became notoriously famous for a scuffle between Tampa wide receiver Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore. Evans was suspended for one game following the incident.
