Virat Kohli
scored his second fifty of the 2022 edition of the Asia Cup on Sunday,
September 4. Kohli scored 60 runs off 44 balls hitting four fours and a six. Kohli’s
60 came at a crucial time of the India-Pakistan match. The 33-year-old former
Indian skipper stayed on and tied the innings together even as wickets kept
falling on the other end.

This was Virat
Kohli’s second fifty this Asia Cup, and the fifties have come consecutively. In
the India versus Hong Kong match, Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 59 runs.

At the end of
Sunday’s match, Virat Kohli reached his fifty with a six. An effortless hit
over the crow corner got him to his half-century. And after that, the Indian
cricket team’s style icon, acknowledged the applause from the crowd and the
dressing room and then kissed his badge in celebration. The jam-packed Dubai
stadium stood on its feet.

Virat Kohli now
has 154 runs in the series at an average of 51.33.

Rohit Sharma
and KL Rahul gave India a solid start with a 54-run partnership. India went on
to score 181 runs in their 20 overs, a little lower than what they expected. The
Pakistan batting side gave India a run for their money.

Starting out Mohammed
Rizwan scored 71 runs in 51 balls having hit six fours and two sixes. While
skipper Babar Azam was dismissed cheaply, for 14 runs, Mohammed Nawaz took
Pakistan near the victory line with his blistering 42 of 20 balls.

Ahead of the
match, Rahul Dravid spoke about how the India team was looking at Virat Kohli’s
performance. “…With Virat, people get a little bit obsessed with his statistics
and his numbers. For us, it’s not really about that,” the team India coach
said.
