Who is Damon L. Douglas?

Damon L. Douglas is 28 years old. He is a resident of Milwaukee. He pleaded guilty to homicide by negligent handling of a deadly weapon in lieu of the original charge of second-degree reckless homicide as part of an agreement with the prosecution.

The maximum term for the reduced offense in Wisconsin’s prison system is five years, followed by an additional five years of extended supervision.

This sentence seems insufficient to Tommorow’s family, given that the terrible death of a little girl who was about to graduate from eighth grade the next day was caused by Douglas’s careless handling of a pistol.

Damon L. Douglas was given a sentence of three years in prison followed by three years of extended monitoring even though he had no prior criminal history. Tommorrow, the eldest of four girls, died in the catastrophe that took place on June 13, 2022, in a house in the 8100 block of West Villard Avenue.

According to court documents, the kids were being looked after by an unauthorized guardian at the time of the event. Tomorrow, who was about to graduate from eighth grade, perished in the tragic incident.

According to the criminal complaint, on the fateful day of the event, Douglas had brought Tommorow to get her nails done as a show of goodwill before her impending graduation ceremony. They were greeted by friends and relatives when they got home, and Tommorow started picking out her attire for the occasion.

The criminal complaint, which provided a detailed account of the incidents, mentioned a time when Tommorrow was in a bedroom and casually picked up a BB gun she frequently used. Douglas responded by pointing a real gun at her while she mock-aimed it at him. Sadly, the gun accidentally went off.
