As per Franklin County Municipal Court records, Darron Lee, a former Ohio State University football player, and first-round 2016 NFL draft choice, was detained by Dublin authorities on Monday night and charged with domestic abuse in connection with two different incidents.

According to court records, Lindsey McGlone, the mother of Darron’s kid, saw Lee assaulting Candice, Darron’s own mother. Reportedly, McGlone has previously accused Lee of domestic abuse.

McGlone remembered an incident from last October in which she claimed Darron accused her of being unfaithful. According to her, “Darron got on top of her while she was in bed, and said ‘that he would kill her and their child.’ She then claimed he punched the pillow next to her head multiple times before he squeezed her throat.”

Darron Lee’s Career: 

Lee participated in college football at Ohio State University, where he was a star performer and succeeded in leading the group to a national title in 2014. He was taken in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the New York Jets, who he played for three seasons until being transferred to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019.

Darron signed with the Buffalo Bills after spending one season with the Chiefs before being released in 2020. There, he played for a portion of the season before being released once more.
