American actress Kaley Cuoco and her
husband Karl Cook are getting divorced after three years of
marriage. The couple made the announcement in a joint statement on Friday,
according to US media reports.

Cuoco was born on November 30, 1985,
in Camarillo, California, to parents Layne Ann Wingate and Gary Carmine Cuoco.
She began working at an early age.

Her earliest acting roles were in commercials,
which she began modeling as a kid. She appeared in episodes of Northern
Exposure, 7th Heaven, and My So-Called Life as a guest star.

Cuoco’s first significant job came
when she was still a teenager. She appeared in the family sitcom 8 Simple
Rules, which premiered in 2002 and starred John Ritter and Katey Sagal.

Cuoco made her television debut as
Penny on The Big Bang Theory in 2007. Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Leonard (Johnny
Galecki), as well as their other genius pals Howard (Simon Helberg) and Raj
(Raj), where the core of the sitcom (Kunal Nayyar). Sheldon and Leonard’s
pleasant, non-intellectual neighbor, who becomes Leonard’s love interest, was
played by Cuoco. The program quickly drew millions of fans because of its cast
of eccentric characters and clever storytelling.

Cuoco had only a few film
appearances while the Big Bang Theory was on the air, owing to her commitment
to her famous comedy. She enjoyed prominent roles in the independent movie Authors Anonymous
(2014) and Burning Bodhi (2015).

Cuoco appeared in and executive
produced HBO Max’s comedy-drama series The Flight Attendant in 2020. Cuoco was
nominated for Critics’ Choice, Golden Globe, and SAG awards for her
performance. The show has been renewed for a second season.

Cuoco married Ryan Sweeting, a
professional tennis player, on December 31, 2013, but the couple announced
their divorce in September 2015. The actress subsequently began dating pro
equestrian Karl Cook and the two married on June 30, 2018, at a horse stable
near San Diego, California.
