Pierre Gasly is a famous French racing driver. It all started when he entered competitive karting in 2006 at 10. The racer went on to finish at the 15th spot in the French Minime Championship. However, it was only upwards after that. The following year, he secured the fourth spot. Pierre started competing internationally in 2009, moving to the KF3 category. In 2010, he finished as runner-up in the CIK-FIA European Championship. 

The French F4 Championship, in 2011, marked his single-seaters debut in the 1.6 litre category. He later moved to the  2-litre Formula Renault machinery in 2012, and then jumped onto Formula Renault 3.5 Series in 2014.

Pierre Gasly was born in France. Interestingly, he belongs to a family, where his paternal side had been very much into motorsports. Hence, his interest in the same throughout his childhood. 

The racer will continue to race for AlphaTauri in Formula One next season. The team boss announced on Tuesday, “This year we have seen that the positive relationship between the two, made of a competitiveness on track and a friendship off track, has proven effective for the team.”

“I am very happy to be moving forward with Scuderia AlphaTauri for another season in Formula One, especially after seeing the progress that we’ve made as a team since I first joined in 2017,” said Gasly.

“Seeing the performance we’ve shown so far this season, I think there are great things to achieve for the rest of this season and for next year…I really believe we can work well together to do even better in 2022,” he added. 

Gasly raced for Red Bull in the first half of the 2019 season. He, however, spent the rest of his Formula 1 with Toro Rosso/AlphaTauri ever since debuting in late 2017.
