Tim Seifert is a New Zealand international cricketer. He opened for the Delhi Capitals when the 2020-finalists took on the Mumbai Indians on Sunday.
The 27-year-old was bounght by the Capitals for Rs 50 Lakh in the IPL 2022 mega auction last month.

Born on December 14, 1994, in New Zealand’s Wanganui, Tim Seifert is a keeper-batsman. He started playing cricket when he was in school and has been a wicket-keeper since he was in intermediate school.
He made his international T20 debut in 2018 against England, while his first ODI match was played against Sri Lanka in 2019 at Bay Oval. Seifert also represented New Zealand in the 2014 ICC Cricket World Cup under 19 categories.

He made headlines with the quickest T20 century in the history of New Zealand’s domestic cricket in 2017. He scored a 100 in 40 balls against Auckland the impeccable performance became a turning point for the dynamic batsman.
Seifert’s other domestic cricket achievements include the title of leading run-scorer in the 2017-18 Plunket Shield season for Northern Districts after he scored 703 runs in just nine matches.
He was selected to the Trinbago Knight Riders’ Caribbean Premier League team in July 2020. He was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in October 2020, replacing the injured Ali Khan, however, he did not play a match during the tournament. He was picked to New Zealand’s team for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in August 2021.

The 27-year old keeper-batsman entered the Indian Premier League scene with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after he replaced injured American fast bowler Ali Khan in IPL 2020. The franchise bought him for Rs 50 lakh then. However, Seifert made his IPL debut in 2021.
In IPL 2021, the New Zealand batsman was retained by KKR for Rs 20 lakh. He was bought by the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2022 auction for the season.
