Kelce has shocked the American football community with the revelation that
everyone has been pronouncing his name incorrectly. The 31-year-old revealed on
Wednesday that his name isn’t pronounced as “Kel-see” as we all have been
saying, rather it is “Kels” and that he has taught himself to “roll with the
punches”.

The news
broke the internet as a number of his teammates took to Twitter to reveal they
have also been saying his name the incorrectly this entire time. While fans may
have been wrong about how the pronunciation of his name, there is no doubt
that Kelce is one of the best tight ends in the league and is an indispensable
asset for the Kansas City Chiefs.

glance at his career:

Travis
Michael Kelce is a tight end who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs in the
National Football League (NFL). Born on October 5, 1989 in Cleveland Heights,
Ohio, Kelce was a three-sport athlete in his high school days, when he played
football, basketball and baseball.

However, he
excelled at football and played college football at the University of
Cincinnati. A failed drug test kept him suspended in his second year in 2010, but
Kelce’s performances in his last two years attracted attention from
professional teams.

He was
named College Football Performance Awards Tight End of the Year in 2013 for a
stellar season in 2012.

He was
drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round (63rd overall
pick) in the 2013 NFL Draft, and signed him on a four-year, $3.12 million contract
that included an over $700,000 signing-on bonus.

He was
restricted to just one appearance in his rookie season in 2013 due to a knee
injury, however, he was their leading receiver the following season, recording
862 yards from 67 receptions.

The
emergence of Patrick Mahomes as a leading quarter back during the 2018 season led
to Kelce excelling further. He won the Super Bowl LIV in 2019, when the Chiefs defeated
the San Francisco 49ers 31-20. Kelce caught six passes for 43 receiving yards, had
a receiving touchdown and one carry for two rushing yards.

His second
Super Bowl appearance came the following year, when the Chiefs were defeated by
Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-9. However, he set a new record for the
most receiving yards by a tight end in a Super Bowl, with 133.

Kelce is
also a six-time Pro Bowl, three-time First Team All-Pro, two-time Second Team
All-Pro and was named in the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. Overall, he has 612 Receptions
for 7,881 Receiving yards and has 48 Receiving touchdowns in his NFL career.
