The week 16 game between Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles ended with the Cowboys seizing a close win at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday. 

The game was a close contest between the two teams and till the very end of the fourth quarter, it was hard picking a winner between the two teams.

The first quarter of the game ended 7-10 in favor of the Eagles. Even though the Eagles could not defend well against Dallas, they managed to score when chances came their way.

At the end of the second quarter, both teams scored 10 points each, and the quarter ended 17-20 in favor of the Cowboys. 

However, the third quarter had a lot of surprises for those who had gathered at AT&T to watch the match. 

The entire order got reversed as the Eagles scored 10 points while the Cowboys managed only seven. As the quarter ended, the game was tied at 27-27 and hung in balance as both teams entered the field for the final quarter of the game.

The fourth quarter saw the Cowboys come out on top as they held strong defensively and managed to score 13 points. The Eagles were almost halfway behind as they scored only seven points. 

The match ended 34-40 with Dallas winning fair and square.

Furthermore, it was not only the tight end-to-end affair that made the game the best of NFL 2022. The 62-year-long rivalry between the Eagles and Cowboys made it extra special.

The two teams have competed against one another in the same division since 1961, igniting a 62-year intra-division rivalry. 

The rivalry is distinguished by fiercely contested games typical of the NFC East and has twice been named the best in the NFL – in 1992 and 2014. The Eagles had the advantage in the 1960s and 2000s before the Cowboys once again asserted their dominance, despite the fact that the Cowboys currently lead the overall series.

However, with the win today, the scales will tilt slightly in favor of the Cowboys.
