Julian Edelman, a former wide receiver for the New England Patriots, is all praises about his former colleague Rob Gronkowski, even calling him ‘Football’s Rain Man’.

Despite the fact that Gronkowski is regarded by many as one of the greatest tight ends of all time, nobody knows much about his football understanding and knowledge. Edelman recently spoke to the Kelce brothers, Jason and Travis, exactly about that.

“Gronk played so much,” Edelman said. “I mean Gronk is football’s Rain Man, could only do three things, like, four things, you know what I mean. The crazy thing about Gronk is, Gronk is low-key like Rain Man, can see you throw numbers out there, Gronk knows numbers real well when the coach would get on him early in his career and, like, he never made that mistake again.

He added, “Like, his football knowledge is, like, outrageous. So, if he does see it once and he does it, yeah, it’s there for good, and that’s just how he was. He was like a savant.”

Last month, a similar incident took place when Edelman applauded Gronkowski for his dedication. It started when Jake Bequette, a former defensive end, claimed that 34-year-old Gronkowski would “go out all night with his boys in Boston.” He asserted that after wild nights of partying, Gronkowski would “pass out” on training tables at the New England Patriots’ facility.

Before entering the field, Gronkowski would “wake up like Frankenstein revived,” according to the former Patriot. At that time, Edelman disputed Bequette’s account of Gronkowski’s actions.

“Story is BS. Everyone wants to paint Gronk as a party animal. When in reality he was one of the most dedicated teammates I had,” Edelman wrote in a quote tweet of the story. And a second former teammate, safety Patrick Chung, seconded Edelman’s tweet and added, “Exactly. People just want their time of fame. Willing to do anything to get it.”

Together, Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski won three Super Bowls together with New England and were teammates for nine years.
