Film and music producer Bhushan Kumar's company T-series, in a statement on Friday, said that the rape complaint filed against him was false and that a counter-complaint of extortion had been filed against the woman. This comes hours after a 30-year-old woman accused 43-year-old Kumar of rape.
The T-series said that the complaint filed against Kumar for alleged sexual exploitation was 'completely false' and 'malicious', reports ANI. The music company added that they had filed a complaint against the woman for an extortion attempt and vowed to take legal action, the agency adds.

Earlier, in a complaint filed at DN Nagar Police station, the woman alleged that she was raped on the pretext of being given a role in one of Kumar's upcoming projects. “As per the complaint, Bhushan Kumar allegedly raped the woman on the pretext of providing a job to her in some projects of his own company,” a police officer torapeld PTI.
“The woman said she was cheated by him and hence she approached the police,” he added.
This is not the first time the producer has been accused of sexual harassment. During India’s #MeToo movement in 2018, an actress-model had accused him of harassment. She, however, backed out later.
He was also in news last year after singer Sonu Nigam targeted him via video clips, in which he accused him of being the ‘music mafia’ of the industry.
Bhushan Kumar is the son of T-Series founder Gulshan Kumar, who was murdered in 1997. Bhushan Kumar was 19 then. He is married to actor Divya Khosla and they have a son named Ruhaan Kumar.
