All the excitement surrounding Substack journalist Matt Taibbi exposing the supposedly infamous ‘Twitter Files’ that was a behind-the-scenes look into how and why the social media networking company suppressed Hunter Biden’s controversial laptop story came crashing down after the big reveal on Friday.

Ahead of his viral Twitter thread, Taibbi wrote: “Very shortly, I’m going to begin posting a long thread of information on Twitter, at my account, @mtaibbi. This material is likely to get a lot of attention. I will absolutely understand if subscribers are angry that it is not appearing here on Substack first. I’d be angry, too.”

But what followed was a damper of a story with Taibbi even citing evidence that the federal government had no role in suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story. At one point, he appeared to criticize the Biden administration for asking Twitter to take down pictures of Hunter’s genitalia from their platform, which falls under revenge porn.

Musk and Taibbi were trolled by Twitter users for the lack of scandal in the big reveal after building up all the hype. “So far, the big scoop from Matt Taibbi and Elon Musk’s Hunter Biden Files collaboration is that the Biden campaign asked the Twitter moderation team to remove some posts and accounts that featured Hunter Biden dick pics, which is basically a form of revenge pornography,” one of them wrote.

Another said, “Elon literally contradicted by his own flack, Matt Taibbi saying that there’s no evidence of government involvement. So the big scandal is private individuals asking Twitter to remove revenge porn of Hunter Biden?”

One more said, “Matt Taibbi is very upset that the Biden campaign asked a platform to take down some revenge porn targeting the candidates son. I’m sure matt would be totes cool with people tweeting out his adult kids dick bc they didn’t like him and would not ask his buddy Elon to help.” Another noted, “Matt Taibbi comes out in favor of revenge porn.”

Another user commented, “So we have Taibbi on the record here saying that there’s direct evidence that the Trump Administration pressured Twitter to remove speech–and Taibbi is more interested in what happened to Hunter’s revenge porn. This isn’t gonna backfire or anything.” One more wrote, “Revenge porn is also a crime. Elon Musk and Matt Taibbi are upset someone asked Twitter to take down a criminal act.”

The only thing that was established in “The Twitter Files” was that Twitter’s then-CEO Jack Dorsey was not aware of the decision to suppress the said content on his own platform — a decision that eventually drew harsh criticism from the masses and also led people to claim that it was a deliberate attempt by Big Tech and the media to sway the election in favor of Hunter’s father.
