Elon Musk, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SpaceX and Tesla Motors, on Wednesday tweeted that over 10,000 people were needed for Giga Texas “through 2022”.

Giga Texas is a factory that is worth $1.1 billion and will open in the final quarter of the year. The plant would manufacture Tesla Cybertruck, Tesla Semi, along with cars of Tesla Model Y and Model 3 for deliveries on the east coast, as reported by CNET.

Musk had put out on Twitter only the day before that SpaceX would hire “several thousand” employees for the SpaceX launch facility in the Brownsville region of Texas in the Boca Chica community. The jobs in the region will include builders, engineers, technicians and essential support personnel.

The ‘Gigafactory’, as Musk calls each of Tesla plant, from Texas will be the fifth of Tesla’s worldwide. As reported by Bloomberg on documents in Texas filed by Tesla between July and September of last year, which said, “The facility is proposing to operate a cell-manufacturing unit to produce the battery packs that are installed in the vehicle”, the plant would build batteries on-site.

Currently, the opening for IT manufacturing support technician requires at least five years of experience. It is stated that some jobs did not require a college degree. “You do not have to have a college degree to work for Tesla. You can work for Tesla straight out of high school”, tweeted Tesla Owners Austin.
