Social media giant Facebook is publicly testing the dark mode feature for iOS, which is already available on its Android application. It is currently not available for everyone but is expected to be released soon.

Dark mode lets a user switch to a black background, which reduces strain on the eyes and decreases the battery consumption. Facebook broadly released this feature for its Android users on Sunday.

To switch on the dark mode on Android, you will have to get the latest update of the Facebook app. If your phone has received the dark mode, then you will be able to see it in the app menu. Tap on the three-dotted icon, find the ‘Dark Mode’ option and you are good to go.

To enable to dark mode on iOS, you have to open the updated version of the Facebook app on iPhone and tap on the hamburger icon.

9to5Mac reported that when you enter the ‘Settings & Privacy’ menu, you will find the new ‘Dark Mode’ option. Facebook will let you choose between On, Off, or System.
