Actor Urmila Matondkar on Thursday responded to Kangana Ranaut’s ‘soft porn actor’ remark and said that people who had previously condemned a Shiv Sena MP’s slur on the ‘Queen’ actor should also take note of Ranaut’s comment against her.

Matondkar said that she had always complemented Ranaut on her talent as an actor and her humble background. She added that she had always acknowledged Ranaut’s numerous achievements.

Matondkar further said that one had every right to express their point of view but the mode and method of doing so were equally important.

In an interview with Barkha Dutt, Matondkar expressed dismay over being referred in a derogatory manner by another woman.

Matondkar’s spat with Kangana Ranaut began after she asked the latter to introspect about the drug culture prevalent in her home state of Himachal Pradesh rather than criticising the film industry. The comment by Matondkar was in retaliation to Kangana’s remark that ‘99% of the film industry had been exposed to drugs’.

Kangana Ranaut had on Wednesday referred to Urmila Matondkar as ‘a soft porn actor’ in an interview with Times Now. She had  said that the ‘Rangeela’ actor was known not for her acting but ‘for doing soft porns.’
