Urvashi Dholakia is a name to reckon with in the Indian TV industry after all when we think of ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’, the first person that comes to our minds is Komolika, a character played so beautifully by her.
In 2012, she participated in Colors TV's ‘Bigg Boss 6’ and emerged as the winner of the season too. After that, she featured in the historical fantasy series ‘Chandrakanta’ as Queen Iravati.
However, when it comes to personal life, it was definitely not a smooth journey for her. She became a single mother to her twins in her teenage years after announcing a divorce from her husband of two years.
The actress was only 16 when she tied the knot and at 17 when she gave birth to her twins.
In one of her interviews, she spoke about the struggles of being a single mother. "The picture was very different 24-25 years ago. The societal pressure, the taboo of being a single mother was obviously there but it did not bother me. Of course, within the family too, people were a bit reluctant and hesitant about it. Today, it has become a fad. Everything in my life happened very early,” she told Pinkvilla.
Post her split, her link-up rumours with Anuj Sachdeva made the news too. They participated together in the dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye 9’.
In one of her recent interviews, she was asked if she plans to marry again. To this, she answered, “Honestly, I have never had the time or inclination to think much about it.”
“ I was always busy working and ensuring that both my sons had a good education and comfortable life. But I strongly feel that you need to be yourself and comfortable in a relationship. If you have to change yourself as an individual to be in a relationship, then it’s not worth it,” she told Times of India.
