A shooting incident occurred on a Wednesday afternoon resulting in the death of a teen and injuries to a man in Akron, as confirmed by police authorities.

Akron police were called when the altercation started to take place at approximately 4 p.m. The shooting took place near the vicinity of E. Glenwood Avenue and Dan Street.

When police arrived on the site, they found a 17-year-old child and a 23-year-old man inside a car, both with gunshot wounds. Tragically, after being brought to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital, the teen was declared dead.

The man was rushed to Summa Health Akron City Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. According to preliminary investigations, the victims were traveling nearby when somebody in another car rolled up and started shooting before driving away.

Authorities found a large number of shot casings at the scene, which shows how violent the shooting was. Fortunately, no injuries were recorded among the residents of the home on Damon Street, despite the fact that the gunfire was powerful enough to strike there. As of now, the authorities have not released the victims’ names.

Meanwhile, another shooting incident was reported in eastern Henrico County. The incident took place on August 16 in the early evening, according to the Henrico County Division of Police. 

The shooting took place close to Nine Mile Road and Interstate 64. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether there were any people injured by gunfire or if anyone has been detained in connection with the incident.

The Virginia State Police is in charge of conducting the inquiry. According to police, the ongoing investigation may cause a minor hiccup in westbound traffic on Nine Mile Road at Gordons Lane. The police authorities have not disclosed much information in the case. The investigation in the case is still on.
