Chicago residents were left shocked when a chain of shooting incidents left one dead and 12 wounded in the city on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. A 91-year-old man and five teenagers were part of the wounded victims and are currently receiving treatment.

The shooting incident that claimed the life of one person took place in the West Pullman neighborhood on the South Side in Chicago around 7 pm on Tuesday. The victim was 24 years old and was standing adjacent to an alley in the 12600 block of South Harvard Avenue before he was shot in the head. According to the police, the victim was dead when he was found.

Before this, two teenagers turned victims in a shooting incident in Brighton Park on the Southwest Side only an hour before. Similar to the victim who died, these teenagers were also standing on the sidewalk of the 4600 block of South Mozart Street when they were shot. According to the authorities, both victims were shot in their legs while one was additionally shot in the forearm. They were soon transported to the Stroger Hospital where they continue to receive treatments.

Another shooting incident took place on the same night in Englewood on the South Side. The 14-year-old victim was outside in the 6800 block of South Normal Boulevard when two assailants exited a nearby vehicle and started shooting. The incident took place around 10:40 pm on Tuesday and left the victim in a critical condition. He was soon transported to the Comer Children’s Hospital by the emergency services.

Another incident took place only 20 minutes later than the Englewood incident when two teenagers were shot in Calumet Heights on the South Side. The incident took place at around 11 pm in the 2400 block of East 93rd Street. The victims were transported to Comer Children’s Hospital for treatment. Later, the authorities discovered shell casings in a nearby alley.

The 91-year-old man was shot in the Longwood Manor neighborhood on the South Side around 10 pm in the 9600 block of South Yale Avenue. He was found in critical condition and was rushed to the Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The police later discovered a firearm in the vicinity.

At least Six more shooting incidents took place in Chicago on Tuesday night, however, the police are yet to make any arrests in connection with any of these attacks.
