Chris Licht, the chairman and CEO of CNN, abruptly fired Don Lemon, the co-host of CNN This Morning, on Monday afternoon, leaving the senior journalist “stunned.”
A statement from Licht was released by CNN along with Lemon’s departure news. Lemon would “forever be part of the CNN family,” according to Licht’s note, which gave no justification for his decision.
