The Pickens Independence Day Spectacular will feature former president Donald Trump as the main attraction. The 45th president will speak at a gathering on Saturday, July 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the City of Pickens said on Wednesday.

The City of Pickens released details about Trump’s appearance on Wednesday night. “President Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America, will celebrate Independence Day and deliver remarks to first-in-the-South voters, along with state lawmakers and other special guests in the City of Pickens, South Carolina on Saturday, July 1, 2023,” the city’s Facebook post stated.

How to buy tickets?

Interested members can get their tickets at event.donaldjtrump.com. According to the website, “You may only register up to (2) tickets per mobile number per event. All tickets are subject to first come first serve basis.”

This unique event was just announced a week after the president hinted at a rally in South Carolina in a social media video. He invited the Rushingbrook Children’s Choir to perform at the event and hinted that it might take place in South Carolina. According to RSBN, Capitol Police told the Rushingbrook Children’s Choir to stop performing the National Anthem D.C., which led to their internet popularity.

Trump said in his video, I heard about what happened at the Capitol and that’s a shame – really that’s a serious thing.”

He continued, “To have such an event like that…to be interrupted in such a way. But we’re going to have you in South Carolina and you’re going to sing at a rally for us in front of tens of thousands of people and we’re all going to have a great time together. We love our country, we’re going to take care of our country, and we’re going to respect to the people who love it.”

The rally is one of many activities planned for the entire day to honor the Fourth of July holiday. A 5k run/walk, live music, and a fireworks display after dark are among the additional activities scheduled for the day. Food, games, and other activities around the city will also be included in the day.

Trump enjoys support from South Carolina voters. He won the state in 2016 and 2020, and despite a string of legal issues, such as a recent charge for violating the Espionage Act, he continues to be the favorite in the Republican Primary race for 2024.
