The final trailer for ‘Fantastic Beasts 3: The Secrets of Dumbledore’ shows glimpses of an impending war in the wizarding world.

The third spinoff from the Harry Potter series shows Dumbledore, played by Jude Law, set to fight a war conspired by Grindelwald, his former close friend and now arch-rival, against the Muggles.

The first trailer of the film, released about two months ago, had given us the first sight at Mads Mikkelsen, who plays Grindelwald, as the movie’s villain, as well as Jude Law, Eddie Redmayne, and Katherine Waterson as the Wizarding World’s only hope.

In the final preview released Monday, we see Dumbledore looking into the Pensieve, saying “Memory is everything. Without we are blind. Without it we leave the fate of our world to chance.”

In the next shot, Grindelwald says, “Our time is close, my brothers and sisters. our war with the Muggles begins today.”

It is understood that Dumbledore will attempt to stop the war between Grindelwald and the Muggles, but due to a blood pact between him and Grindelwald to never fight each other, the Professor has to mobilise a force let by Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander.

A voiceover by Newt plays in the background, “The world as we know it is coming undone,” followed by Dumbledore saying, “If we’re to defeat him, you’ll have to trust me.”

The third instalment will have Newt leading a team of wizards and his Muggle friend Jacob (Dan Fogler) on a mission to thwart Grindelwald’s plans of seizing control of the wizarding world. In one of the scenes, the two characters are together on a train, when Newt says, “Dumbledore asked me to give you something, Jacob,” and he holds up a wand. Newt’s brother Theseus (Callum Turner) says; “This is the team that’s gonna take down the most dangerous wizard in a century. Who wouldn’t like our chances?”

Mikkelsen is the third actor to characterize Fantastic Beasts’ main villain in one form or another so far in the series’ three movies. Johnny Depp did it most recently in 2019’s ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’, but was replaced for the third movie after he was mired in personal controversy. The ‘Fantastic Beasts’ series will apparently include two more movies for a total of five which gives us the chance to see Grindelwald at least on two other occasions. ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’ is set to release on April 15, 2022.
