Nobel Prize-winning American novelist Ernest Hemingway was born on July 21, 1899, in a suburb in Chicago. At age of 61, Hemingway shot himself to death ending an incredibly celebrated life.
During his lifetime, he had a strong influence on 20th-century literature and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954.
Hemingway published seven novels, six short-story collections, and two non-fiction works. Three of his novels, four short-story collections, and three nonfiction works were published posthumously.
