Isaac Perlmutter a.k.a Ike has left Disney. The billionaire, who sold Marvel to Disney in 2009, was informed on Wednesday that Disney is folding his Marvel Entertainment unit into other parts of the company and that he would be let go. Marvel Entertainment is primarily concerned with consumer goods and is not affiliated with Kevin Feige’s profitable Marvel Studios branch.

Rob Steffens, Marvel Entertainment’s co-president, was also let go. Perlmutter’s exit was first revealed by the New York Times.

On November 30, 2001, Isaac Perlmutter was named Chief Executive Officer of Marvel Enterprises, Inc., succeeding previous President & Chief Executive Officer Allen Lipson. Perlmutter also served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Marvel Enterprises, Inc.

Perlmutter was then appointed Chairman of the newly established business, despite the fact that his present formal position is Chairman, Marvel Entertainment.

In March 2023, Perlmutter left Disney.
