Actors Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet are officially separating, the couple announced on Wednesday.

The Aquaman actor shared the joint statement on his Instagram, “We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage.”

“We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty,” the statement continued. “The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become…”

The statement concluded, “Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life our children. Teaching our children what’s possible. Living the Prayer. May Love Prevail. J & L.”

Momoa, 42, and Bonet, 54, started dating in 2005 after being introduced by mutual friends at a jazz club, according to a report in People.

The couple got married in October 2017.

The Game of Thrones actor never shied away from expressing his love and admiration for his wife. In a 2013 interview, for instance, he had said, “My wife [is] a very pretty woman. She’s beautiful and I love her… I’m a very lucky man.”

They had their first child, Lola, in 2017, and second child, Nakoa-Wold in December 2008.

“If someone says something isn’t possible, I’m like, ‘Listen here, I married Lisa Bonet. Anything is f***ing possible,'” Momoa had told Esquirein 2019.

Bonet, who rose to fame playing one of Bill Cosby’s daughters on ‘The Cosby Show’ and its spinoff, ‘A Different World’, was previously married to rocker Lenny Kravitz, whom she shares daughter Zoe Kravitz with, reported AP.
