Ella Emhoff, the step-daughter of US Vice President Kamala Harris, recently made her debut on a panel discussion at the New York Fashion Week in a stunning yellow tie-dye top and black trousers. Emhoff, 21, born to Harris’ husband and the Second Gentleman, Doug Emhoff, appeared on the show after she bagged a modeling contract with IMG. The panel with Proenza Schouler is a part of the New York Fashion Week: Talks, a show that focuses on fashion-related cultural talks.

IMG Models is a company that signs top models like Ashley Graham, Gigi Hadid, and Ciara. The announcement of Emhoff’s network with them was announced after the inauguration day where she had appeared in a Miu Miu coat.

Unique in her style, Ella is more artistic and eccentric. She doesn’t carry the quintessential air of a model around her. Her round glasses and curls only add to her personality. Talking about this, the President of IMG models said that these days brands don’t look for shape, sizes, or any other conventional standards of beauty. Instead, they look for authenticity.

Speaking about Ella, he said that she carries that authenticity around her. “There’s a cheekiness and a joy she exudes.”, he said.

Besides entering into modeling, Ella Emhoff is also an artist and sells knitted clothes online.
