Casey is a member of the Time Variance Authority (TVA). Working for the bureaucratic organisation, he collects and files evidence. He works at the the front desk of the TVA. Introduced in the first episode, Casey is somewhat dim-witted and submissive. Casey is certainly a strange character as he seems to have little knowledge of the outside world and the same was proved when when Loki threatened him and Casey said that he has no idea about what a fish is.

As for the early life of Casey, he was a Variant who was captured by the Time-Keepers and his memory was suppressed so that he can be made a member of the TVA, the organisation protecting the Sacred Timeline from Variants. Apart from being a timid and strange guy, Casey was also handed over the Tesseract and some Infinity Stones to archive them.

Additionally, Casey, like Wunmi Mosaku%u2019s B-15, is a completely original character created for Loki. For the fans, it must be noted that there is no backstory for Casey that you need to know. The character could pretty much go anywhere and everywhere the show wants.

Who plays Casey and why is he familiar?

Casey is played by Eugene Cordero, a comedian and character actor who has appeared in other TV shows and films. The reason why Casey looks familiar, is probably because Cordero (playing Casey in Loki) has been a part of several other TV shows and watching him there has compelled us to think that he looks familiar.
