A mass shooting at a teenager’s birthday party in Dadeville, Alabama on Saturday night, left at least one dead and multiple people shot.

According to the Alexander City Outlook, the incident occurred at the Mohagany Masterpiece dance studio near East Green Street and North Broadnax Street in Dadeville at around 10:30 p.m. local time. It is not yet known whose birthday it was.

The Tallapoosa County Coroner has confirmed that an unspecified number of people died in the shooting. Local outlet WRBL reported that over 20 people were shot and rushed to the hospitals. Their conditions are not clear. A photo taken by a witness showed the bodies of at least six teenagers on the ground, according to BNO News.

Another witness put the total number of victims to be more than six. There were reportedly multiple bodies covered with white sheets at the scene of the incident. Another showed multiple families gathered outside a local hospital following the incident.

Very little information has been divulged as of Sunday by authorities about the suspect in the case. The investigation is currently ongoing. According to unconfirmed online reports, the suspect fled on foot. No arrests have been made so far.

The Dadeville Police Department is being assisted by multiple law enforcement agencies including the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation and the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Dadeville, which is located in Tallapoosa County, has a little over 3,000 residents, according to the US Census Bureau.
