Who all will join President-elect Joe Biden to the White House? Apart from his wife Jill Biden, his children, their spouses, and grandchildren, the White House in 2021 will also welcome two “pawsome” members, Champ and Major, the pets of the Biden family.

After the President’s office was pet-free for four years, Champ and Major will become the first dogs of the US reviving a tradition that goes back to George Washington, who was the first American President to have a dog, according to the New York Times.

On Saturday, Democrat former vice president Joe Biden was declared the winner of one of the most turbulent US presidential elections, after he claimed victory in the battleground state of Pennsylvania that took him past the threshold of 270 electoral votes.

Champ, who has made his special appearance in a campaign video of Biden urging people to vote, was a gift from the President-elect to his wife Jill after he became the vice president for the first time in 2008. Champ was bought from a Pennsylvania breeder, for which Biden has received some backlash as it was not a rescue dog, reported ANI.

The Biden family adopted Major in 2018 after Joe’s daughter Ashley sent him a picture from the Delaware Human Association.

Before this, at least 30 US presidents have had dogs, according to the NYT, however, President Donald Trump does not have any pets.
