Miley Cyrus experienced a wardrobe malfunction during her New Year’s Eve performance in Miami but didn’t allow the little snafu derail the evening. The pop star, along with co-host Pete Davidson, was performing at her “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” on NBC when the incident took place.

Miley, who was performing her song “Party in the USA“, lost part of her silver top during the performance, following which, she turned her back to the camera and walked off the stage. She soon continued with a blazer on and interacted with the audience.

“Everyone definitely is looking at me now,” she said after she came back on stage to continue her song. The American songwriter, singer and record producer walked out wearing a red blazer and exclaimed “ I’m still in the most clothes that I’ve ever worn on stage”. She was later joined by Sawaeetie and they danced along on stage. She mentioned that everyone in attendance was vaccinated and had been tested for covid because of the new outbreak.

The show was being live-streamed on Peacock. Miley went on to say that this is not the kind of new year they all thought they were going to have this week or even just a few hours ago. The singer also mentioned the new omicron variant that has been spreading and said that “ We’re racing omicron to midnight and my money is on us. I got tested for Covid so much this week I’m becoming a Q- tip size queen”.

Later during the show, her co-host added to the fun and said that he might have a similar malfunction as well and teased Miley about it. Miley was quick to handle the situation and made the environment light with her performance. 

In the end, she said that
she wanted to make the best of the worst circumstances and that we shouldn’t
end our resilience and bring this energy and mindset into the year that is yet
to come.
