Former Dallas Cowboy and NFL great Robert Quinn was detained on Friday in South Carolina, according to TMZ Sports.

The 33-year-old pass rusher, who last season played for the Eagles and Bears, was arrested for hit-and-run and assault and put into a Dorchester County jail at roughly 8 AM.

However, according to WCSC-TV, Quinn has been charged with fleeing the scene after allegedly ramming into four vehicles, a light post, and a gate on Tuesday in Summerville.

Police records state that when officers arrived at the scene of the alleged hit-and-runs at around 8 PM on Tuesday, they discovered Robert Quinn’s F150 truck to have “significant” damage.

They assert that there were signs at the scene indicating it had hit four neighbourhood cars and appeared to have also damaged a gate.

According to police reports Quinn had fled the scene, and the search for him continued without success. Additionally, when they searched the vehicle, they found a “partially empty bottle” of Crown Royal Apple whisky on the floorboard of the truck’s passenger side.

The outlet reports one witness told them the football player stopped to talk for a brief moment following the wreck before leaving … but was “very belligerent.”

“He kept saying, ‘Oh, don’t worry about it I’ll buy you new cars, I’ll buy you new cars, let’s go to the dealership,'” the witness said. “I told him to get off my property and he proceeded to put his hands on me and slap me not once but twice.”

According to court documents, Quinn has now been charged with a total of seven offences connected to the incident.
