The Best Actress award at Oscars 2021 was won by Frances McDormand for ‘Nomadland‘. She played the character of one of a group of retirees in the film directed by Chloe Zhao. This is McDormand’s third-best actress award at the Oscars.

Viola Davis for Ma Rainey’s ‘Black Bottom’, Carey Mulligan for ‘Promising Young Woman’, Vanessa Kirby for ‘Pieces of a Woman’ and Andra Day for ‘The United States vs Billie Holiday’ were also nominated.

The Academy Awards were held on Sunday, April 25, at Union Station Los Angeles and the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Centre.
