Several people sustained minor injuries following a prison riot at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles, California, on Friday, Intel Point Alert tweeted.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said they are preparing for “a minimum of 10-20 individuals requiring medical attention.”

In other related news about the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, the local jail will soon have more mental health services available for its mentally ill inmates.

The Twin Towers Correctional Facility will gain 16 additional mental health beds as a result of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors’ approval of a resolution on Tuesday to establish an intensive care unit. The unit will provide mental health care for persons who are detained and need to be stabilized in order to avoid endangering themselves or others.

Correctional health professionals estimate that 12% of all jail inmates have a mental disease of some kind.
