A video of a Holiday Inn employee having a ‘meltdown’ while being yelled at by a furious customer has gone viral on after social media commentator Tariq Nasheed, who calls himself a race-baiter, tweeted the video. Nasheed alleged that the young white employee lost control because he was racist.

In the video tweeted by Tariq Nasheed, the employee of the hotel can be heard saying that he has “mental issues.” The guest, while recording the video, continued with his tirade against the desk clerk, and also said that he was recording him, while he was in bad shape.

Few seconds into the video, the distraught employee began hitting himself and smashed his head into the computer monitor. Sobbing, the young man told the guest that“you’ve ruined my life.” The guest then tried to follow him, laughing, as the employee went into a back area of the hotel, in an attempt to calm himself down.

Tariq Nasheed’s video post alleged that the employee broke down because he was questioned by a black customer.

Tariq Nasheed’s attempt to ‘expose’ the supposed racism of the distraught employee resulted in a backlash against both the  guest, who was seen laughing and misbehaving with the hotel employee who repeatedly begged that he has mental health issues, and Nasheed who chose to see the selective not-so-racist side in the video.

Many Twitter users slammed Tariq Nasheed and the guest, calling the former “classless”.

The hotel employee posted on Reddit that he quit his job, despite support from his management, and Holiday Inn’s parent company called the treatment the employee received, “unacceptable.”

“I do have mental disorders. I suffer from BPD and schizo-affective disorders. What this fine, 5’5” bald gentleman behind the camera DIDN’T record was the fact that he called me a F**GOT for an associates mistake,” he wrote on Reddit.

A YouTube vlogger has raised over $80,000 for the hotel employee, who is the autistic man, on GoFundMe.
