Rapper Joseph Afroman, 48, announced his ambitions to campaign for the White House while onstage at a concert in December and has now submitted the paperwork required to run for our nation’s highest elected position in the 2024 election with the Federal Elections Commission.

‘Can I make the biggest announcement I ever made in my life? I’m running for president in 20-20-fro! We gonna get legal weed everywhere,’ Afroman told the crowd in Missouri.

Afroman rose to fame in 2000 with the release of his breakout hit Because I Got High, which was nominated for a Grammy and features some truly iconic lyrics.

Before moving into the White House, Afroman must settle legal matters with police officers who stormed his residence and sued him for using their image in their music video.

According to TMZ, Afroman is running as an independent and has formally named his presidential committee “Joseph Afroman Foreman for President.”

Afroman followed up his promises last year with an Instagram post outlining his “eight main priorities” for the presidential campaign.
