Following the reports, Denver police began clearing the building and securing the campus using patrols, the university said in a tweet.
Since reports of the unidentified armed men became public, the Northwest Denver Campus has been put on lockdown. The unidentified armed men were first spotted sometime before 9:30 pm on Tuesday, followed by a tweet from the university, which also notified the Denver Police Department. A subsequent tweet revealed that the Denver Police Department has reached the campus. It also urged the students to contact 911 if they see any suspicious thing.
“DPD is on campus. Stay in a secured location. If you see anything suspicious contact 911. Updates to follow,” the second tweet read.
Another Twitter update shared by the handle revealed that the Denver police officials are using vehicle patrol and entry teams to clear the campus and buildings. It also urged the students to heed all commands of the police if contacted and not to approach the officers if not asked to do so.
