Wiz Khalifa‘s performance at the Ruoff Music Centre was unceremoniously ended at 10:30 pm on Friday while he was midway through his set, after people started fleeing the venue in haste after reports of a shooting.
While it is still unclear whether a shooting happened, there was an air of panic in the audience, as people were seen making desperate phone calls at the Ruoff parking lot, while some were seen crying hysterically while holding on to each other.
Where is the Ruoff Music Centre?
The Ruoff Music Centre is an open-air amphitheatre that is located in Noblesville, Indiana. It is the largest such venue in the Indianapolis metropolitan area with above 24,000 people capable of being accommodated in the venue. It is thus the venue of choice for large music concerts in this area, which is what it is mainly built for, but has also been used for graduation events and political rallies.

It is widely regarded as one of the best amphitheatres in the world. In fact, in December 2018, Pollstar, a trade publication for the concert industry, ranked the Ruoff Music Centre as the world’s top concert amphitheater based on annual ticket sales for the year 2018. During the previous year, the venue ranked third on the list of the world’s top concert amphitheaters, and in 2021, the venue ranked second on the same list.
This summer itself, a stream of major musical acts have made their way to Indiana and performed at the Ruoff Music Centre. The list of top acts to have performed here in the past few. monhts includes the Backstreet Boys, Luke Bryan, Foo Fighters and The Black Keys, Josh Groban, Evanscence, Korn, Santana, Alice in Chains, and Beck, among many others.
