Popular American rapper Wiz Khalifa made headlines on Friday, August 27, when a shooting scare ended his concert at Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville around 10:30 pm. However, following the incident, the police later said that they had no information regarding what took place.

The audience began to flee from the venue after screams were heard informing about an ongoing shooting, however, shots were not heard or seen. Wiz Khalifa and the rest of his band also left the stage immediately.

Who is Wiz Khalifa?

Cameron Jibril Thomaz, popularly known as Wiz Khalifa, is an American rapper who is best known for his studio album Rolling Papers. His debut album, Show and Prove, was released in 2006 and was then signed by Warner Bros. Records the next year. Khalifa has received widespread acclaim for his songs, some of which have featured on the Rhythmic Top 40 and Hot Rap Tracks charts, apart from The Billboard Hot 100.

Wiz Khalifa was born on September 8, 1987, in Minot, North Dakota in the United States. His parents were soldiers in the US military and divorced when he was only 3. Khalifa moved around with his parents because of their job in childhood and lived in Germany, the UK and Japan before settling down in Pittsburgh with his mother in 1996.

He attended the Taylor Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh and it was at this time that he started writing songs and singing them. The rapper took on his stage name Wiz Khalifa later and revealed that it is because he was called “Young Wiz” when he was growing up. He also has a tattoo of his name.

By the time he was 15, he was recording his songs at a studio named ID Labs, who were impressed with it and let him record his music for free.

Wiz Khalifa released his first mixtape named Prince of the City: Welcome to Pistolvania in 2005, a year before his first album, Show and Prove. The Rolling Stones called him an “artist to watch,” during this time.

After he signed with Warner Bros. Records in 2007, his debut single Say Yeah made it to no. 25 on the Billboard Rhythmic Top 40 chart. It was also on the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks chart, at no. 20.

Since then, he has gone on to release numerous singles, studio albums and mixtapes, winning several accolades. Some of his best albums are Deal or No Deal, Rolling Papers, O.N.I.F.C and Blacc Hollywood.

He married model Amber Rose on July 8, 2013. The couple has a son, Sebastian Taylor, who was born in the same year. The next year, Rose filed for divorce and currently, they have joint custody of their son.
