Aaron Lamont Swan Jr., 28, the suspect arrested for the murder of Brackenridge police chief Justin McIntire, has been shot and killed, according to various sources. McIntire had been serving in his position since 2019.

Aaron Lamont Swan Jr. had allegedly killed Brackenridge police chief Justin McIntire. A resident of Duquesne, PA, Swan was later shot and killed by officers chasing him.

Channel 11 News reported that Swan Jr. was arrested from Pittsburgh’s Homewood area.

In the incident that killed McIntire, Swan Jr. is believed to have shot the former and one of his associates before jacking a car and fleeing the scene. The other police officer has been injured.

Swan was being chased by the police since he had violated probation in a weapons case. Swan was identified at a traffic stop on Monday but he managed to escape.

 However, at around 4:00 PM, Swan was located. A shooting commenced at this time that resulted in McIntire’s death.

After shooting the police chief, Swan carjacked a 2014 Subaru Legacy and escaped from the scene.

On Twitter user said regarding the incident, “Aaron Swan JR was arrested in 2019 for manufacturing drugs, illegally possessing weapon, shooting at police, &putting elderly people in harms way hiding from police. Why was he on the streets in 1st place? This info in news & PA court case search.”

WXPI reports that despite being from Duquesne, Swan was often seen in the Penn Hills area.
