Who is Antonio Caccavale?

Antonio Caccavale is a 43-year-old man from Southwest Ranches. He told the Dave Police Department that he saw the vehicle trespassing on his property, and he asked his son to go and tell them to leave. While approaching them, his son called for help and he then went for the vehicle with a gun.

Caccavale allegedly found that the vehicle was being driven “erratically”. He said that the drivers ran over logs, boulders, and a fence on the property. The police report states that he feared for his and his son’s safety, especially after the vehicle allegedly also ran over his son’s foot. He decided to then pull out his Smith & Wesson handgun and shoot several rounds at the car.

The drivers of the vehicle were identified as Waldes Thomas Jr., 19, and Diamond D’arville, 20. They were on the phone with a customer trying to locate the right address when they mistakenly entered Caccavale’s property.

They told the police that they “attempted to reverse out of the area” when they hit a boulder. They alleged that Caccavale grabbed onto the driver’s window at one point. As they were leaving the area, they said they heard three rounds of firing.

Police decided not to file any charges as “each party appear justified in their actions based on the circumstances they perceived.”
