How McKenzie knows Dylan is a whole different story. Peter McKenzie was a 15-year-old high school sophomore when he met 19-year-old Dylan, who showed up at his family’s New York City flat in the middle of May 1961. He was essentially a McKenzie family member, both as an older, protective brother for Peter and an adopted son for his parents.

Days following his popular performance, Dylan went to the McKenzie family home and gave Peter one of two harmonicas as a present. On the front of the box, Dylan even hand-wrote the name of the song he had played.

In his book, Peter goes into great detail about the occasion when he received the unique gift, which he is now giving to a lucky consumer. According to admirers, this harmonica might be one of the most important Bob Dylan harmonicas ever sold.
