In their only scheduled debate before the November 8 election, Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Democratic opponent Beto O’Rourke addressed issues such as immigration, abortion, the economy, and weapons on Friday night.

In order to advance his top priority problem of border security and the nation’s faltering economy under the supervision of Democratic President Joe Biden, Abbott, who is running for a third term in office, will aim to gain an advantage in the polls.

Abbott cited his adopted daughter while outlining his anti-abortion beliefs and emphasizing his Catholic faith.

“I’ve seen firsthand the power that adoption can have, and it just further strengthened my belief in the power of giving life to every child possible,” Abbott said.

“I want others to be able to have that same sense of joy,” Abbott added.

Who is Audrey Abbott?

Audrey Abbott is the adopted daughter of Governor Greg Abbott and Cecilia Phalen Abbott, his wife.

Not much is known about the circumstances surrounding her adoption or about her birth parents.

Audrey is seeking a career in the entertainment world, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She held internships at LiveNation and BMI previously. She currently works in marketing for Republic Records’ Let’s Get It Records unit.

She once played a significant role in her father’s political career. She introduced him as the GOP candidate for the position of Texas’ new governor during a meeting on March 4, 2014.
