Internet sleuths went to work after 25-year-old Shanquella Robinson, a hairdresser from North Carolina, ended up dead after just 24 hours of going on vacation with her friends in Cabo, Mexico on October 28. 

After news of her death went viral, a video of one of her female friends beating up Shanquella prior to her death surfaced online. Shanquella is naked in the video and getting physically assaulted by a woman. The friends in the group who were with the victim recorded the attack on their phones while they were heard cheering on the aggressor. At one point in the video, a friend can be heard saying, “At least fight back.”

Salamondra Robinson, Shanquella’s mother said that after her daughter’s death, her friends have given her conflicting accounts about what happened to Shanquella. “They said she wasn’t feeling well,” she recalled. “They couldn’t get a pulse. Each one of the people that were there with her was telling different stories.”

Shanquella’s friends reportedly told Salamondra that her daughter’s cause of death was alcohol poisoning. However, the mother said that the FBI and Mexican authorities found out that her cause of death was different. An autopsy done on Shanquella revealed the cause of death as severe spinal cord injury and atlas luxation.

Fives names emerged after the video went viral. People on media have tagged Khalil, Wenter Donovan, Alysse Hyatt, Daejhanae Jackson, and Nazeer Wiggins’ as Shanquella’s friends who were vacationing with her at the time of her attack. These names have not been confirmed by the authorities as they look into the case. 

Who is Daejhanae Jackson?

Twitter users have alleged that the woman who beat up Shanquella was allegedly Daejhanae Jackson. Her image is being circulated on social media.

Daejhanae Jackson maintains a LinkedIn profile, according to which, she is an “aspiring healthcare professional.” Her profile also noted that she studied at Winston – Salem State University. The profile showed that she worked at Blue Rhino in Greensboro, North Carolina. The company is a “propane tank exchange brand,” the company’s official website said. 

It remains unclear whether Jackson currently works at the organization.
