A man was spotted tearing down posters of kidnapped Israeli children by Hamas. The man identified as Haider Tawakali. 

He was severely criticized on social media for his actions and antisemitic remarks. Tawakali was spotted saying ‘IDF rapes children honey’ when he was confronted while tearing down posters.

Who is Haider Tawakali?

Haider Tawakali is reportedly a project manager at Black Rock. He was severely criticized on social media for antisemitic remarks. Several social media users slammed him after the incident went viral.

One user wrote, “Sad to see these type of charecters hating jewish community. Such Slander,hatred is horrible and condemnable. Sad 😢”

“Can anyone tell me why they are doing this other than just hating Jewish people?” another user wrote.

One user tweeted, “These antisemites will learn they have mistaken Jewish kindness for weakness.”

Since the October 7 tragedy and amid the ongoing confrontation between Hamas and Israel, there has been a marked upsurge in anti-Semitic occurrences and acts of hate towards Jews in the US and around the world. According to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), in the first two weeks following the start of the Middle East crisis—which was sparked by a Hamas attack on Israel—anti-Semitic incidents in the US increased by about 400%.

There have been reports of anti-Semitic incidents on the internet, protesters screaming Hamas slogans, and synagogues being vandalized with swastikas. Since Hamas’ surprise attack on Israel on October 7, which sparked the start of the Gaza War, there has been a discernible upsurge in antisemitic events throughout the United States.

Between October 6 and October 30, 36 anti-Jewish hate crimes were recorded in the Los Angeles police department, a 140% increase over the same time the previous year.
