A year after the Uvalde massacre where a gunman killed 21 people, including 19 children – his cousin was arrested for making alleged threats to ‘do the same thing’ in a drunken rant to family members.

When the youngster allegedly warned family members that he was preparing a violent attack, the boy’s mother grew concerned and dialed the police. She revealed that the family lived close to an elementary school and that her son had been attempting to get an AR-15 in a private deal.

According to police reports, the 17-year-old was detained on Monday morning and accused with making threats to a family member and a public location. Nathan James Cruz was named as the suspect.

Who is Nathan James Cruz?

Cruz allegedly threatened to kill his sister in the head and said that he would also “shoot the school,” according to an affidavit that was included with the report. In addition, according to his mother, he made the unsettling comment that “school was starting soon,” which she found amid the other remarks. The parent claimed that the youngster was intoxicated when he reportedly made the threats and that he is now on probation.

Although there are now no records available, any prior accusations against the youngster would have been brought while he was still a minor. According to jail records, he is charged with making a terroristic threat to the general public, a felony, and making a terroristic threat to a family member, a misdemeanour.

At the Uvalde school in May, Cruz’s cousin Salvador Ramos murdered nine to eleven-year-old innocent youngsters as brave teachers gave their lives to protect the students. In the deadliest school massacre since Sandy Hook over ten years ago, the gunman shot dead 22 people in total after killing 19 students and two teachers in a single classroom. The attacker was shot dead by police, who also brought the death toll to 22.

In a hearing, it came out that Ramos had committed a very evil act just before leaving. Rep. Joe Moody, a Democrat from El Paso who serves in the Texas House, said: “The attacker scooped up the blood of his victims and smeared it into his disgusting message. Next to that (whiteboard), he had written in innocent blood the word, LOL”

Extended family members were worried that Cruz would follow in his cousin’s footsteps. Bond had not been set on either charge as of late Monday afternoon.
