Twitter’s Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal made headlines on Thursday, October 27, when reports emerged that he was fired by Elon Musk after he completed his takeover of the social media giant. According to reports, Segal was one of the first top executives at Twitter to be fired by Elon Musk, followed by CEO Parag Agrawal and others.

Ned Segal’s exit from Twitter comes amidst a time of uncertainty for Twitter employees, the majority of whom were reported to be on Musk’s axe list. Segal joined Twitter in 2017 and his five-year stint saw the social media giant touching new heights and putting up stark competition to the likes of Facebook and Instagram.

Who is Ned Segal?

Ned Segal was social media giant Twitter’s Chief Financial Officer, who was fired from the role by Elon Musk when the latter completed his takeover of the company. He was born on April 14, 1974, to Edward David Segal and Lynne Segal. Ned pursued a bachelor’s degree in science from Georgetown University, where he graduated in 1996.

The former Twitter official has two brothers and a sister. He is married to Maya Segal since September 20, 2000. The couple has three children together, two boys and a girl. The family lives in San Francisco.

Before joining Twitter in 2017, Segal worked as the Senior Vice President of Finance for Intuit Small Business Group where he oversaw their financial and strategic planning. However, he began his career at Goldman Sachs after graduating college in July 1996. So far, he has worked for Goldman Sachs, RPX Corporation, Intuit, Beyond Meat and Twitter in his career.

As per recent reports, Ned Segal’s net worth is $60 million. He reportedly earned $600,000 as the Chief Financial Officer at Twitter. He is yet to announce his next career plan after parting ways with Twitter.

Segal’s exit from Twitter comes after reports stating Elon Musk plans to take full control of the company, handling both the roles of CEO and CFO himself.
