Pennsylvania, a lawsuit filed at the United States Supreme Court in December 2020 questioning the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, in which Joe Biden ousted incumbent Donald Trump. The Supreme Court declined to consider the case on the grounds that Texas lacked standing to dispute the results of an election held by another state under Article III of the Constitution.

Signing the amicus brief, according to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is an act of “election subversion.” She also rebuked Huizenga and the other House members who had backed the lawsuit, saying, “The 126 Republican Members that signed onto this lawsuit brought dishonor to the House. Instead of upholding their oath to support and defend the Constitution, they chose to subvert the Constitution and undermine public trust in our sacred democratic institutions.”

Huizenga had voted with President Biden’s stated position around 14% of the time as of January 2022.
