Police officials have arrested a suspect taken into custody in connection to the dismembered human remains discovered in the Delray Beach Intracoastal last month.

The suspect has been identified as William Lowe, who also happens to be the husband of the woman whose human remains were found.

Who is William Lowe?

William Lowe is 78 years old. He is the husband of the woman whose human remains were discovered last month in the Delray Beach Intracoastal.

Detectives carried out a search warrant at Lowe’s apartment in Delray Beach, leading to the arrest. They found a significant amount of blood during the search in the living room, dining room, bathroom tubs, and drains, among other places in the flat. Police reports detail these discoveries, which have aided in building William Lowe’s case.

In addition to finding large amounts of blood throughout the apartment, authorities also discovered drag marks, which could have been attempting to transfer or hide something. On the dining room table, a chainsaw cover and charger for a Ryobi chainsaw were also discovered, raising questions about their probable connection to the horrifying incident.

Officers also discovered cleaning products with blood splatter, indicating attempts to clean up the crime scene. These pieces of information were essential to the inquiry and helped lead to William Lowe’s capture.

Detectives interrogated Lowe, who admitted to being married and named his wife as Aydil Barbosa Fontes. 

The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office was able to confirm that the remains discovered in Delray Beach were to Aydil Barbosa Fontes using dental records.

Detectives also found a Ryobi chainsaw inside the container with what seemed to be blood on the blade, chain, and housing. They also discovered a cooler with what seemed to be blood on it.

William Lowe has been charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a dead human body.
