Federal police have said a rabid Kansas City Chiefs fan known as “ChiefsAholic” is responsible for robbing a bank in Iowa. They are also investigating other bank and credit union robberies that have occurred across the central United States.

Xaviar Michael Babudar, 28, of Overland Park, Kansas, was charged on Monday with one count of bank theft and one count of moving stolen property across state lines, according to federal authorities. It wasn’t immediately obvious if Babudar had legal representation.

Babudar frequently attended games while dressed as a full-body wolf because of his large social media following. His Twitter account has been deleted.

He was accused of robbing a credit union in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in December. Prosecutors claim that after being released on bond in February, he removed an ankle monitor and escaped before being apprehended on Friday close to Sacramento, California.

Babudar is charged in an affidavit of robbing the Great Western Bank in Clive, Iowa, in March 2022 and making off with around $70,000 in cash. Prosecutors claimed that he is accused in numerous other robberies and may face additional charges.

According to the affidavit, Babudar traveled through the Midwest robbing banks and credit unions in Tennessee, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Iowa before laundering the money through casinos and bank accounts. He is also under suspicion for two attempted robberies of credit unions in Minnesota.

According to the complaint, an FBI investigation found that Babudar spent more than $1 million on chips at casinos in Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois between April 2022 and December 2022.
