A shooting at the Mall at Prince George’s, on Thursday, left one man – Stanley Ramey- dead. “Around 10:30 pm officers responded to the 2100 block of Rochell Ave for a shooting. Once on scene, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene”, the tweet read. 

The incident took place in Hyattsville, Maryland, and the cops soon managed to secure the scene and determine there was no active threat. However, they advised people to stay away from the area and continue to be on the lookout for the shooter. 

Who was Stanley Ramey? 

The 28-year-old victim’s full name is Stanley Eugene Ramey as per Truthfinder, a site that carries out deep searches on real-life people.

Ramey’s reported to be from District Heights, but the records on Truthfinder show him to be from Capitol Heights, which is a small distance away. Originally, he appears to hail from Torrance, California and has lived in Temple Hills, Maryland, and Alexandria, Virginia, before moving to his current address. 

Possible relatives are listed as Monte Mccray, Darcia, Mychael, and Mykeya Ramey.

Not much else is known about the victim at this time. 

Hyattsville Police confirmed the news of the death in a tweet, saying, “Hyattsville Police confirm a shooting death at the Mall at Prince George’s around 4:00 p.m. The victim was a man who was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers do not believe this was a random act. The mall and surrounding areas are secure.”

They asked anyone with information on the matter to reach out to authorities and added that detectives were already at the scene. 

Ramey’s death is the second in as many months at the MPG, where another shooting took place in June 22. A 22-year-old man named DaQuan Dockery succumbed to his injuries and died. The police arrested two 16-year-olds in connection with the incident.
